A small jet carrying nine people crashed into an Ohio apartment building Tuesday and erupted in flames, authorities said.
No one onboard was believed to be alive, the Akron Beacon Journal reported

Flames prevented firefighters and rescuers from entering the building. The plane had taken off from Dayton, authorities said.
State Highway Patrol Lt. Bill Haymaker said it immediately appeared that the apartment building was empty. "Obviously, the situation could have been worse, granted, if anybody was home," he told NBC News.
Augusto Lewkowicz, the private jet's owner, said there were nine people, including two pilots, in the aircraft.
He declined to release their names, pending notification of next of kin, the paper said.

The flight had been charted by Execuflight, a Florida company, the newspaper reported.

The jet was apparently en route to nearby Akron Fulton Airport when it clipped power and phone lines and then hit a small apartment building, authorities said.
