Reps To Host Victorious Eaglets

The House of Representatives has announced plans to host the victorious Golden Eaglets at plenary on a yet-to-be announced date.
The House said it was hosting the Eaglets for not only winning the just concluded Under 17 FIFA World Cup in Chile but for also setting new records at the tournament.
Adopting a motion by Hon. Nwawuba Henry Ndochukwu (PDP, Imo) the House congratulated the entire coaching crew, the players and specifically the coach Emmanuel Amunike, highest goal scorer and golden boot award winner Victor Osimhen and most valuable player of the tournament Kelechi Nwakali.
While urging the federal government to consider awarding national honours to the members of the team, the House called on the Nigerian sports authorities to continue to engage the players in order to retain them.
The lawmakers also applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for his encouragement to the team as well as winning the trophy twice, first as Head of State in 1985 and second as democratically elected president in 2015.
The House equally commended the Falconets for booking a ticket for the Under 20 Women World Cup coming up next year.
