‘Police determined to meet Boko Haram December deadline’
Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu with the new Commissioner of Police for Bauchi State Mr Baba Tijjani during a courtesy call on the emir in Bauchi yesterday.
Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 12 Bauchi, Tunde Ogunsakin, has re-iterated the determination of the police and other security agencies operating in the North-east to meet the December deadline to end Boko Haram insurgency.
He stated this when he paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwan Suleiman Adamu.
Ogunsakin, who was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police for Bauchi State, Baba Tijjani, said the end of insurgency in Nigeria is close because the insurgents are already on the run.
He said the police and other security agencies will do their best to bring the Boko Haram insurgency to an end.
He said different strategies have been put in place in the zone to tackle insurgents. The AIG commended the emir for his support to security agencies in the state which he said helped in maintaining law and order.
“We want to appreciate you for your advice and support which has helped in fighting insurgency and other crimes in the state. This has gone a long way to ensure that insecurity in Bauchi is not as terrible like other states in the region. We believe that traditional rulers have critical role to play in the fight, so we appeal for your support and advice,” he said.
Responding, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwan Suleiman Adamu commended the efforts of the new administration in tackling insurgency in the region.
