GOVERNOR of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole has specially called on the Presidency to arrest and prosecute former minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, over her alleged role in the $2billion arms deal.
He equally urged the Federal Government to ensure that the ongoing investigation into arms deal purchase under the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan is total by ensuring that all those involved in what he called ‘the chain of conspiracy’ are dealt with decisively. The governor insisted there was no way Okonjo-Iweala was not in the know as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy under Jonathan.
Oshiomhole, who met behind closed-doors with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, told State House correspondents on his way out that the government could not afford to be selective in the probe because, in criminal law, all those involved must be charged for conspiracy.
The Edo governor insisted that Okonjo-Iweala, could not coordinate a corrupt-ridden economy and pretend to be an angel.
