Army Recovers 37 Cows, 75 Sheep From Cattle Rustlers In Bauchi

Nigerian Army has recovered 37 cows and 71  sheep from cattle rustlers in a forest of Lame Bura in  Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi state.

This was disclosed by the Brigade Commander  of the 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, Brigadier General Abraham Luka Dusu while briefing newsmen in Bauchi on Friday.

He said the operation  is line with the directives of the Chief of Army Staff to cleared forest of Lame Bura, balgore and surrounding of any possible attacked and criminal activities.

According to him, a total of 37 cows and 75 sheep were recovered during the operation by the soldiers adding that the rustlers ran away on sighting the soldiers.

He said “I want to categorically state that the Brigade will not condone any form of activities of insurgency, bandits, cattle rustling, kidnapping, rape or any form of criminality in its area of responsibility”

 Luka said the operation is part of its effort to get rid of ,insurgents, criminals  from the frontline states of Adamawa Borno, Yobe .

He warned that the Command would not tolerate criminal acts in the state as well as neibouring state.

He enjoined the public to provide the command with  information that will lead to the arrest of the suspected criminals and cattle rustlers  in the state

Luka said, army authorities had handed the livestock recovered  to the owner in  presence of the DPO of Bura, Chairman Butchers  and Village Head of Bura community in the area
