In line with the recent interrogation of former governors by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, concerning their dealings while in office, the anti-graft agency, yesterday, invited former Kebbi State governor, Usman Dakingari over allegations of laundering N3.8 billion while he served as governor of the state between 2007- 2015.
While the spokesperson of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren would not respond or pick his calls, LEADERSHIP learnt from another staff, who is not authorised to speak that the former governor arrived the EFCC headquarters at about 10am today and was later released on administrative bail after spending some unspecified time with the interogators of the agency.
Recall that the former governor’s wife, Zainab had been invited by the EFCC in July following accusations of laundering N2 billion for her husband, while she was the first lady.
It would be noted that in the past one week, former governors, Gabriel Suswam and Godswill Akpabio had been visitors to the anti-graft agency on different charges of corruption.
