UWAJUMOGU CONDEMNS ENUGU ATTACK, SAYS IT'S ONE ATTACK TOO MANY
The former Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu, has condemned the attack and killing of innocent Nigerians in Uzo-Uwani area council of Enugu State, by persons suspected to be armed herdsmen, saying it is one attack, too many.
This is even as he appealed to President Mohammadu Buhari and other relevant stakeholders to immediately intervene to forestall future occurrences, in order to avoid further breakdown of law and order which is capable of throwing the entire nation into another round of crisis.
Rt. Hon Uwajumogu's appeal came yesterday while fielding questions from journalists, on the state of the Nation's security and the reported invasion of Ukpabi-Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani local government council, that led to the killing of innocent Nigerians.
The former Speaker who recalled his experience in 2012, during a similar clash between the herdsmen and the people of Ohaji/Egbema, in which he narrowly escaped death, while trying to mediate between the two factions, called for a concerted effort by relevant stakeholders in the country to nip the ugly trend in the bud.
While appealing for calm, Uwajumogu expressed confidence that the present administration has the political will to surmount the present challenges and return total Peace to Nigeria.
He further condoled with the Ukabi-Nimbo community of Uzo-Uwani and Enugu state government, while praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
