Suspected ritualists in Ajeromi/Ifelodun local government area of Lagos State have killed a commercial motorcycle operator, plucking off his eyes on Saturday.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the ritualists also shaved his hair and cut his private part half way before they saw people riding on motorcycles approaching and they escaped from the scene.
The victim identified as Daniel Afan, 28, who hailed from Isoko area of Delta State was said to have carried two passengers who woke him up from his residence on Sunny Street, off Ago-Hausa Street, Ajegunle, around 4.35am .
His brother who identified himself as Alex disclosed that when the two men knocked at the room of Daniel and persuaded him to carry them to Alaba- Oro, along Lagos-Badagry expressway that fateful day, his four-month pregnant wife, Beauty, was still asleep.
Alex said Daniel carried the men but when they got to an abandoned government school building opposite Alaba market, close to the expressway, they claimed that they had reached their destination and ordered Daniel to stop the motorcycle.
The commercial motorcycle operator did not envisage any danger, so he obeyed, but unknown to him he had dug his early grave.
Alex said other members of the gang rushed out and they held the victim. He said they plucked his eyes, shaved his hairs, and they cut his penis half way, and when people on other motorcycles were racing down towards the scene, they abandoned the victim in his pool of blood and escaped.
He said they did not remove his money and motorcycle. They only took away the SIM card from his handset and left the phone for him.
He said the riders who arrived at the scene saw his identity card as an okada rider who registered with an association at Otto-Woff, in Ajeguinle area.
They rode to Otto-Woff and informed his colleagues about the pathetic story and they all went back to the scene. They took the victim to Ajegunle general hospital at Oregie, where he gave up the ghost.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the victim’s pregnant wife flung herself on the floor in anguish on hearing the sad news.
