Hold emergency caucus meeting
From Fred Itua, Abuja
WORRIED by the spate of unfavourable elections tribunal rulings in Rivers and Akwa Ibom States respectively, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senate caucus, held an emergency meeting in Abuja yesterday evening.
The meeting, Daily Sun investigations revealed is coming on the heels of a similar emergency meeting expected to hold today at the national headquarters of the PDP.
The meeting is also expected to proffer solutions on how to correct perceived unfavourable rulings against the party.
A senator who attended the meeting, soon after yesterday’s plenary, disclosed that opposition lawmakers are worried by the two recent rulings against the election of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers and Emmanuel Odom of Akwa Ibom.
He said senators would eventually take a position, after which the matter will be brought up on the floor of the Senate for deliberation.
The senator who is from the South-South geopolitical zone, said the meeting was brief but added that more will follow in the coming days
