We’ll know if some power problems are man-made or systemic – Fashola as he assume duty

The new Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Bar. Babatunde Raji Fashola yesterday assumed duty at the Federal Ministry of Power, determined to work with the staff to change the persistent darkness in the country.
His arrived was greeted with heavy jubilation and loudest ovation from the staff of the ministry, signaling acceptance.
Fashola was received by the Director, Human Resources, Mrs Grace Papka at the Minister’s office as the Minister of State, Alhaji Mustapha Baba Shehuri arrived the ministry at 3:20pm and joined Fashola immediately.
Fashola who said he won’t address the press immediately however called for a meeting with the ministry’s directors shortly after his arrival.
A later statement from the media head, Timothy Oyedeji, said the new Permanent Secretary, Louis Edozien was present at the meeting as Fashola said his thoughts are on how to bring together activities of all the Ministries now under his supervision for effective service delivery.
“We are here to work with you, in solving problems on ground as quickly as possible, we want to know if some of those problems are man-made or systemic.
“We want information on what has been done, what remained to be done, and what are the future plans, we want to continue from there,” he said.
Alhaji Shehuri, the state minister requested for a detailed Ministerial Briefing Document to serve as a guide as this will ensure proper take off.
Copies of the document was issued to the ministers by Mrs. Grace Papka, with a schedule for proposed briefings by the Departments and Agencies in the power sector.
